Two students at the Seventh Day Adventist Senior High School in Bantama, Ashanti Region, are battling for their lives after a shocking shooting incident on campus on Friday, April 4, 2025.

Sources within the school revealed that the incident occurred during break time when Bernard Amoabeng, a second-year student, brought a firearm to school.

A heated argument reportedly broke out among some students regarding whether the gun was real or operational.

In a reckless attempt to prove the weapon was functional, Amoabeng allegedly discharged it, accidentally shooting two of his classmates.

One of the victims, identified as Penamang, sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound to the forehead. She was first taken to the Kwadaso Hospital but later transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital due to the critical nature of her injuries.

The Suame Police swiftly arrested Amoabeng and have launched a thorough investigation into the incident.
