Kumasi Mayor Hon. Richard Ofori Agyeman Boadi Receives Ceremonial Guard of Honour

The newly appointed Mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Richard Ofori Agyeman Boadi, was honored today with a ceremonial Guard of Honour, a prestigious gesture symbolizing the official commencement of his duties as the city’s leader.

The colorful ceremony was organized by the Metro Guard and served as a formal welcome to Mayor Boadi. A key highlight of the occasion was the presentation of the mayor’s chain of office—a traditional emblem of civic pride, authority, and unity. Worn at official functions, the chain represents the mayor’s responsibility to serve the people of Kumasi impartially and with dedication.

A contingent of 30 Metro Guard personnel, led by Sergeant Asamoah Mensah, paraded in a full ceremonial display to pay tribute to the new mayor. The Guard of Honour reflected the deep respect and dignity associated with the office.

The day’s proceedings were overseen by Metro Coordinating Director, Mr. Francis Dwira Darko, who formally handed over the transition report to the mayor. This crucial document outlines ongoing projects, challenges, and strategic directions, ensuring a seamless transition of leadership.

As part of his orientation, Hon. Boadi was introduced to heads of various departments and units under the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly. This marks the beginning of his collaborative efforts with these departments to advance the city’s development agenda.
