The Ghana Police Service has arrested a prime suspect linked to the robbery and killing of a Mobile Money (MoMo) vendor in Kumasi, Ashanti Region.
In a statement on Thursday, the police confirmed the arrest of Martin Amoah, alias “Baba Macho,” who was captured on March 27 during an intelligence-led operation in Kpone, Greater Accra Region.
Amoah had been on the Ashanti Regional Police’s wanted list, and his arrest brings the total number of suspects in custody to four.
Authorities consider his capture a major breakthrough in their ongoing investigations into the alarming attacks on MoMo vendors in Kumasi.
The city has seen a surge in violent robberies targeting vendors, with three losing their lives in separate incidents—two involving firearms.
The police have reassured the public of their commitment to tracking down all those responsible. The arrested suspects remain in custody and are set to face court proceedings on charges of robbery and murder.
