Bishop Salifu Amoako, father of a 16-year-old involved in a tragic accident that resulted in the deaths of two young girls in East Legon on October 12, 2024, has urged Ghanaians to cease speculation about the incident.
Speaking to his congregation at Alive Chapel International on October 20, he expressed his frustration over the ongoing discussions, emphasizing that the event was an unfortunate accident rather than a malicious act.
Bishop Salifu Amoako defended his son, insisting that he did not commit a crime. “This was an accident,” he stated, clarifying, “My son did not use a gun to harm anyone. It was a terrible mishap, and neither I nor his mother is to blame. People are talking because of my name.”
The bishop noted that the heightened public interest in the case is tied to his prominence. “If it were just an Okada accident, no one would even mention it. It’s because of my status,” he pointed out. He urged the public to stop the chatter and trust that “the Lord will intervene.”
The incident, which involved the boy driving a Jaguar, led to a tragic fire that claimed the lives of the two girls. In light of the widespread debate and scrutiny surrounding the crash, Bishop Amoako called for patience and respect for the legal process, expressing confidence that the truth will eventually emerge.
