Ghanaian forward Inaki Williams marked a significant milestone in his La Liga career by scoring his 80th goal as Athletic Bilbao triumphed 2-0 over Villarreal on Sunday.
Williams, 30, netted the second goal of the match, which helped his side secure all three points and climb up the league table.
Athletic Bilbao got off to a strong start with Aitor Paredes scoring in the 15th minute, finishing off a pass from Inigo Ruiz de Galarreta.
Villarreal thought they had equalized in the 22nd minute, but Pape Gueye’s goal was disallowed following a VAR review.
The home side went into the break with a 1-0 lead and extended it after the restart.
Inaki Williams scored his fourth goal of the season, securing a memorable 80th La Liga goal. This achievement came just days after he celebrated his 10th anniversary at the club.
