John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, has fired back at President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s jab calling him a “one-term president.”
Amid rising political tensions and Mahama’s refusal to debate the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Mahama spoke at a governance forum in Accra, underscoring his significant contributions to Ghana’s development.
Mahama asserted that his influence goes beyond his time in office, stating, “I know my level. If someone claims I lack significance because I served only one term, I can assure you that my level is not to be a clearing agent.”
He reiterated his commitment to good governance and accountability, expressing a sincere desire to see public officials held accountable.
“This isn’t about witch hunting; it’s about the public’s expectation for accountability from their leaders,” he explained.
Mahama pledged to uphold transparency and integrity in governance, emphasizing that combating corruption requires both courage and strong principles.
