Ruby Bediako, wife of Nana Kwame Bediako, the Independent Presidential Candidate in the 2024 general elections, has expressed disappointment with Ghana’s electoral system after rumors surfaced about the outcome of her husband’s vote.

It was reported that Nana Kwame Bediako received only one vote at a polling station in the Korle Klottey constituency, where he voted alongside his wife.

In a viral video shared on X, Ruby questioned the whereabouts of her vote, saying she was heartbroken by what she believed was a lack of transparency in the system.

“It wasn’t just me. I think it was the whole family that went. I’m heartbroken because I think the system failed us. Where is my vote? I don’t know where my vote went,” she said in an interview.

Despite the disappointment, Ruby Bediako expressed that her family remains happy and satisfied with the overall election results. She encouraged Ghanaians to support the newly elected President, John Mahama.

“The comment on social media isn’t just about me. I think many people are also wondering where their votes went, but we are all very happy. Ghana won, and that’s what matters most. Let’s all celebrate our President-elect,” she added.

Amidst these rumors, Nana Kwame Bediako and his New Force party made a strong showing in the presidential race, securing third place with 84,478 votes despite being a first-time candidate.

John Mahama was officially declared the winner of the 2024 presidential election on December 9, 2024, with 56.5% of the vote (excluding results from nine constituencies). His main rival, Dr. Bawumia, received 41.6% of the total votes.
