Kofi Adams, Ghana’s new Minister of Youth and Sports, has assured the nation of his dedication to making a positive impact in his role, vowing not to disappoint Ghanaians or President John Dramani Mahama.

In his vetting with Parliament’s Appointments Committee, Adams acknowledged the public’s mixed reactions but expressed confidence in his ability to serve effectively.

While recognizing some reservations, he highlighted that the majority of the public supported his nomination.

“I will not disappoint Ghanaians, and I will not disappoint HE John Dramani Mahama. I will deliver. And I won’t disappoint myself,” he affirmed.

In response to concerns over the poor state of the country’s sporting facilities, Adams emphasized that his administration would focus on improving maintenance practices while also developing new infrastructure.

“Under the leadership of the president, we are going to improve upon maintenance culture. We will ensure that no facility deteriorates to the point of being unusable. With the limited resources available, we will maintain what we have and also build new facilities,” he added.

Adams’ statement underscores the government’s commitment to revitalizing Ghana’s sports sector, ensuring existing facilities are preserved for athletes and future generations.
