Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah, founder and leader of Glorious Word Power Ministries International, has strongly denied allegations made by Bernard Antwi Boasiako, known as Chairman Wontumi, regarding an alleged anointing of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the next president of Ghana.
In a statement addressing these claims, Owusu Bempah labeled the assertions as false. Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), had stated that he accompanied Dr. Bawumia to Owusu Bempah’s residence, where the preacher purportedly anointed the Vice President as the designated successor to President Nana Akufo-Addo.
However, speaking from the pulpit, Owusu Bempah refuted this narrative, insisting that no such meeting occurred.
The Reverend also challenged Wontumi’s claim that he cannot visit Kumasi following a recent prophecy predicting that ex-President John Dramani Mahama would be the next leader of the country. He dismissed these claims as unfounded and emphasized his ongoing connection to the Bantama area, where he grew up.
“There is no truth to what Wontumi is saying,” Owusu Bempah stated during a sermon. “I am a Bantama boy, and these claims are laughable. When I lived in Kumasi, Wontumi was just a young boy. He says he came to my house with the Vice President and that I anointed Bawumia, but that is completely untrue. Even Bawumia himself knows Wontumi is not telling the truth,” he asserted to his congregation.
