Emmanuel Bedzrah, the Chairman of the committee investigating the chaos on January 30, 2025, during the ministerial nominee vetting process, has rejected claims of bias made by the Minority Caucus.

Addressing the accusations, Bedzrah firmly asserted that he has remained impartial throughout the investigation. “We are still waiting for their testimony. I haven’t seen any formal accusations of bias against me. My work speaks for itself,” he said.

Bedzrah, who also serves as the MP for Ho West, expressed surprise at the Minority’s absence from proceedings, adding, “We are awaiting them on Monday. If they do not attend, we will enforce constitutional provisions and the standing orders.”

This comes after the Minority Caucus called for Bedzrah’s immediate removal as chairman, accusing him of showing prejudice in public statements and having a conflict of interest. Committee member Kwame Anyimadu Antwi emphasized the need to reconstitute the committee to restore credibility to the investigation.

The ad hoc committee, formed by Speaker Alban Bagbin, is tasked with probing the violent disruption during the vetting process, which resulted from a standoff between the Majority and Minority over the vetting schedule, leading to clashes and the destruction of equipment. Other committee members include Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi, Gizella Akushika Tetteh-Agbotui, Abena Osei Asare, Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, Vincent Oppong Asamoah, and Bede Anwataazuma Ziedeng.
