Erling Haaland netted a hat-trick as Norway dominated Kazakhstan, securing promotion to the top tier of the Nations League.

The Manchester City striker, who recently became Norway’s all-time leading goalscorer, now boasts an impressive 38 goals in 39 appearances for his country.

He is also the top scorer in the Nations League, with seven goals across six group matches.

Haaland opened the scoring by tapping in a rebound after Antonio Nusa’s shot was parried by goalkeeper Stas Pokatilov. He then doubled the lead with a powerful header from Nusa’s cross. Alexander Sorloth added a third before halftime.

Haaland completed his hat-trick with a precise finish into the bottom corner from the edge of the box, assisted by Sander Berge. Nusa later contributed to the scoreline with Norway’s fifth goal.

Norway’s victory allowed them to overtake Austria, who drew 1-1 with Slovenia, securing the top spot in Group B3.

Ralf Rangnick’s team was close to clinching the group after Romano Schmid’s goal, but Adam Gnezda Cerin’s late equalizer for Slovenia dashed those hopes. Austria will now enter a promotion-relegation play-off against a third-place team from the top tier.
