John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, has accused the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) of orchestrating a disinformation campaign to damage his reputation ahead of the 2024 elections.

Speaking during a visit to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, in the Ashanti Region on November 3, Mahama alleged that the government is operating a fake news machinery to undermine his credibility.

He specifically refuted allegations linking him to an attack on his convoy in Techiman, describing them as baseless fabrications meant to create division.

Mahama reaffirmed his dedication to peaceful campaigns and called for transparent elections, urging stakeholders to prioritize unity over divisive propaganda.

“The seat of government knows about the recent propagation of fake news… Because their campaign has failed, they have resorted to lying,” Mahama stated, adding that he trusts divine justice will prevail in favor of truth and fairness.
