- She criticized the NPP for failing to fulfill campaign promises
- Didier emphasized the urgent need for progress and development in Ghana
Ghanaian gospel artist Perpetual Didier has announced her support for National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama,.
Perpetual Didier cited the ruling New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) dismal performance as the catalyst for her campaign song.
In a recent interview, Didier emphasized that her song goes beyond mere composition; it’s a powerful endorsement of Mahama as a credible and capable leader.
She expressed disappointment in the NPP, highlighting the unmet promises that led many, including herself, to feel let down.
Didier noted the current governance crisis, lamenting that while Mahama faced intense scrutiny during his tenure, similar criticisms aren’t directed at the current administration despite its failures.
“I wrote this song because I empathize with the struggles of Ghanaians,” she stated. “I, too, have experienced the challenges we face today. The economic situation is dire, with businesses suffering and the promises of the NPP unfulfilled. We need to advance as a nation, and that requires change.”
She reiterated her commitment to honesty, stating, “As a Christian, I feel it’s my duty to advocate for change. If we want progress, we must vote for someone who can deliver.”
