- President Akufo-Addo commended NAPO's dedication

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called on both alumni and current students of Prempeh College to back Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh’s Vice Presidential bid by casting their votes for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s presidential candidate.
If elected, Dr. Opoku Prempeh would be the first alumnus of Prempeh College to hold the Vice Presidency. With the school’s history of producing leaders, including former President J.A. Kufuor, there’s a significant opportunity for another alumnus to rise to a prominent national position.
Speaking at the school’s 75th anniversary and Speech and Prize Giving Day, President Akufo-Addo emphasized the pride that comes with supporting one of their own—Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, affectionately known as NAPO—as the next Vice President of Ghana.
He praised Dr. Opoku Prempeh as a dedicated and effective politician, highlighting his partnership with Dr. Bawumia in addressing the infrastructural needs of the school as outlined by its headmaster.
“Let me conclude by urging all of you to support the Vice Presidential candidacy of one of your own, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South; a diligent and skilled politician. Together with Dr. Bawumia, they will tackle all the pressing needs that have been communicated, even those that may require more time than I have left,” he stated.
