In a move aimed at promoting transparency in the upcoming December 7 elections, the Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that it will disclose presidential results from all 16 regions separately before releasing the national totals.

Deputy Chairperson Dr. Eric Bossman Asare made this declaration during the launch of the Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) Election Monitoring System.

Dr. Bossman Asare emphasized that this approach is designed to ensure a fair and transparent electoral process, allowing parties and the public to monitor the results as they come in from regional coalition centers. He assured that all political parties have been informed of this procedure.

The announcement comes as the EC reaffirms its commitment to conducting a credible election, highlighting the importance of transparency in building public trust.

The results will first be gathered from polling stations and compiled at constituency centers before being sent to regional coalition centers for further processing.

This initiative marks a significant step in the EC’s efforts to foster confidence in the electoral process as Ghana prepares for what is anticipated to be a closely contested election.
