  • Changes aim to minimize disruptions and enhance operational efficiency

The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced measures to restrict media and observer access to collation centres during the 2024 general election to ensure a secure and efficient process.

Under the guidelines, each constituency collation centre will host only eight media houses, while regional collation centres are limited to 12, comprising five TV stations and seven radio stations.

Dr. Eric Bossman Asare, the EC’s Deputy Commissioner, explained on Eyewitness News that the decision was based on historical experiences and the logistical demands of collation centres.

“This arrangement is designed to minimize disruptions and facilitate a smooth collation process,” he stated, emphasizing that the limits apply across board and aim to balance coverage and operational efficiency.
