Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has commended the remarkable strides made in Ghana’s education sector under the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Speaking at the launch of 80 new educational facilities across the country, Dr. Adutwum emphasized the pivotal role of the NPP’s initiatives in reshaping the sector since 2017.

The Minister highlighted the government’s focus on modernizing educational infrastructure and fostering academic excellence, positioning these efforts as key to Ghana’s development.

He stressed that upgrading infrastructure is essential to achieving the NPP’s vision of creating inclusive and efficient learning environments, stating, “We cannot educate 21st-century students in 19th-century buildings and expect 21st-century outcomes.”

Dr. Adutwum also drew a parallel between Ghana’s progress and South Korea’s transformative journey, noting that while Ghana is currently 50 years behind, the nation has made significant progress in embracing STEM education. He praised the 80 school projects as a critical step forward in revitalizing Ghana’s education system and advancing its STEM initiatives.

The inauguration of the new schools, according to Dr. Adutwum, marks an important milestone in the country’s educational reform journey.
