Richard Ahiagbah, the Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has praised President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s handling of Ghana’s economy, describing it as commendable despite significant external challenges.

Speaking in an interview, Ahiagbah noted that external shocks had hindered the administration’s efforts but argued that, under normal circumstances, the economy would have thrived.

“Akufo-Addo didn’t do badly at all in managing the economy. If you strip away the real shocks, this economy would be in a much better place. Even now, the economy has rebounded, showing a 7% growth in the first three quarters of this year,” he explained.

He added that the current growth momentum positions the economy for a stronger performance by 2025, emphasizing that the administration had successfully steered the economy back on track after downturns.
