Deadly Collision Claims Six Lives on Accra-Kumasi Highway

A horrific accident near Juaso on the Accra-Kumasi highway claimed the lives of six individuals on Friday, October 11, 2024.
The incident involved a sprinter bus traveling from Togo to Kumasi, which collided with a VIP bus en route from Tamale to Accra.
The collision resulted in the immediate deaths of one passenger from the VIP bus and five from the sprinter. Preliminary reports suggest that the driver of the sprinter bus made a dangerous overtaking maneuver, causing the crash.
Injured passengers were swiftly transported to Konongo Government Hospital for treatment, while the deceased have been taken to the Yawkwei mortuary for preservation.
John Boakye, an Assistant Officer at the Asante Akyem Fire Station, confirmed the tragic event to Adom News and reported that any potential fire hazards have been addressed.
He urged drivers to reduce their speed and exercise caution to prevent such devastating accidents in the future.
