An Accra High Court is scheduled to announce its ruling on December 4 in the case of Daniel Asiedu, also known as Sexy Don Don, who is accused of murdering J.B. Danquah Adu.

The court will first hear closing statements from both the defense and prosecution. Justice Lydia Osei Marfo, a Court of Appeal judge with additional High Court responsibilities, will then summarize the case before issuing a verdict.

The prosecution, led by Principal State Attorney Sefakor Batsa, concluded its cross-examination of Asiedu on Thursday.

During the proceedings, Asiedu denied allegations that his DNA was found at the home of the late MP and on the property of Abigail Marfo, a witness in the case, where he supposedly cleaned himself after the alleged crime.

He also contested the claim that a red hat found on Marfo’s property contained 100% of his DNA.

Asiedu argued that he had provided only one statement to the police following his arrest, asserting that the others were coerced and written by law enforcement, which he was forced to thumbprint.

He dismissed the prosecution’s assertion that he not only stabbed the deceased but also stole mobile phones from him, which were later recovered in his possession. “The police never took any mobile phone from me; they seized it from another individual I do not know,” he stated. He mentioned that this person later attended a meeting with notable figures, including Madam Ursula Ekuful and Kennedy Agyapong, but claimed the police did not summon these individuals as witnesses.

Asiedu acknowledged having his name, including his alias, tattooed on his body and offered to show it to the jury if allowed.

He denied any involvement in the murder of J.B. Danquah Adu, whom he is accused of stabbing on February 8, 2016, maintaining that he had no personal grievances and had committed no wrongdoing.

When questioned by the jury president, Asiedu explained that he had gone to the police to report an incident involving a prostitute.

Regarding a cup given to him by the police during the scene reconstruction, he admitted to having blood on his hands due to a head injury but could not confirm if the cup was stained with blood.

He also stated that he was unsure if security cameras were present at the deceased’s home due to his stress at the time.

Asiedu, who faces murder charges, pleaded not guilty. His alleged accomplice, Vincent Bossu, also known as Junior Agogo, was acquitted of conspiracy charges after the court ruled in favor of a submission of no case.
