Corrupt Officials Beware: Mahama Unleashes Ruthless Plan to Expose and Prosecute
Mahama commits to a zero-tolerance approach to corruption, aiming to restore integrity in governance
- Mahama's "Operation Recover All the Loot" will utilize local and international experts to root out corruption
- New laws will bar political appointees from purchasing state assets
- A state assets registrar will be established to efficiently manage corruption-related cases
John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Candidate, has reiterated his determination to confront corruption directly if elected in 2024.
During his Governance Forum in Accra on October 31, Mahama outlined a comprehensive plan to investigate and prosecute corrupt officials, utilizing both local and international investigators for effective results.
His strategy includes enacting legislation to prevent political appointees from buying state assets, promoting greater transparency and accountability in governance.
Additionally, Mahama plans to create a state assets registrar to streamline the handling of corruption cases.
“I am committed to eliminating the scourge of corruption,” Mahama stated. “Our initiative, Operation Recover All the Loot, will focus on investigating and prosecuting those involved in corruption, supported by both local and foreign expertise. We will also implement laws to stop political appointees and public officials from acquiring state assets, tackling the issue of state capture head-on with a dedicated asset registrar.”
