Holders Ivory Coast have been drawn against Cameroon in the group stage of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon), set to take place in Morocco.

At a star-studded draw ceremony in Rabat, the Elephants landed in Group F, alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s Gabon and Mozambique.

The tournament, Africa’s premier football event, kicks off on 21 December 2025 and runs until 18 January 2026. Hosts Morocco will open the tournament against Comoros.

Group C features a tantalizing matchup, with Nigeria, runners-up in the 2023 final against Ivory Coast, set to face Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania. Intriguingly, Uganda and Tanzania will clash as co-hosts of the 2027 Afcon.

In Group B, regional rivalries heat up as South Africa, Angola, and Zimbabwe join Mohamed Salah’s Egypt. Meanwhile, Group E sees Sudan, who qualified despite ongoing civil war, drawn against Algeria.

Senegal, champions in 2021, will face DR Congo in Group D. Football legends like Mustapha Hadji, Serge Aurier, and Joseph Yobo were present to assist with the draw.

The tournament will feature 24 teams split into six groups, with the top two teams in each group and the four best third-placed teams advancing to the knockout phase.
