Bishop Salifu Amoako, father of the 16-year-old involved in the tragic accident that resulted in the deaths of two young girls in East Legon on October 12, has strongly criticized some of his church members for attacking a reporter from EIB Network following court proceedings on October 17, 2024.
Speaking to his congregation at Alive Chapel International on October 20, Bishop Amoako expressed his disappointment over the incident and highlighted the necessity of restraint and understanding during difficult times. He called on his followers to show compassion and engage in constructive dialogue, urging them to approach the situation with empathy and consider all viewpoints related to the tragedy.
“Control yourselves, ACI family. I urge you to practice self-control. Some of you came to the court and embarrassed me. Your actions were unwise and have only added to my struggles. What happened there was disgraceful, and it should not have occurred,” he said.
“Do you realize the harm you’ve caused me? I’m already dealing with personal challenges, and now I’m facing the media as well. The case is in court, where we should be seeking to interpret the law, not to create conflict.”
He added, “Some of you were fortunate not to be arrested. Instead of supporting me, you chose to create chaos. You should consider yourselves lucky. I have not called you to come and fight for me,” he emphasized.
