Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, declared that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is panicking over their impending electoral defeat.
While addressing a lively crowd in Ho, he noted that the NDC’s anxious demeanor suggests they recognize that victory is slipping from their grasp.
Dr. Bawumia expressed astonishment at the NDC’s sudden urgency to claim a majority in Parliament just six weeks before the elections.
“It’s nearly 9:30 pm, and Ho Central is buzzing. I understand why the NDC is panicking,” he remarked to the enthusiastic audience. “They know they are losing this election.”
He criticized the NDC for their late push to gain a majority after being in the minority for eight years, questioning their motives: “With only six weeks left, why the rush to be a majority for just a short time when they’ve been in the minority for so long? It’s clear they know they’ve lost and want a taste of power, even if it’s fleeting.”
Dr. Bawumia expressed unwavering confidence in the NPP’s victory, predicting a solid majority in Parliament. He attributed this optimism to the party’s achievements in various constituencies. “We are the majority and will maintain that position on December 7,” he affirmed. “NPP will secure a decisive majority.”
He concluded by highlighting the NPP’s dedication to their work, which he believes has garnered them widespread support. “We’re set to win a decisive majority because of the hard work we’ve done across every constituency,” he said.
