Minority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has sharply criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for causing financial strain on the country following an abrupt adjournment of Parliament on Thursday, November 7.

Speaker Alban Bagbin was forced to adjourn proceedings indefinitely after a significant number of NPP MPs failed to attend, despite their party having called for the recall session.

Dr. Forson condemned the NPP’s absence as a failure of duty, claiming that the party’s lack of participation is not only hindering critical parliamentary discussions but also causing unnecessary financial loss to the state.

He described the situation as an abuse of parliamentary procedures and urged Ghanaians to hold the NPP accountable by voting them out in the upcoming December elections.

He also accused the NPP of being out of touch with the nation’s pressing issues, alleging that the party has resorted to superficial campaign tactics like distributing money and dancing rather than addressing the country’s real problems.

Dr. Forson stressed that the NPP’s actions reflect incompetence, and he called on voters to punish the government at the polls for its failure to govern effectively.

“We are fed up and ready to vote them out,” Ato Forson declared. “This is an abuse of power, and it’s time for change.”
