- The Minority Leader praised voters for holding leaders accountable
Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minority Leader, has described the 2024 general elections as a bold uprising by Ghanaians against the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) governance.
Speaking during Parliament’s opening session on December 16, he framed the election as a clear protest against poor leadership, economic mismanagement, and disregard for public sentiment.
Dr. Ato Forson emphasized that the outcome of the December 7 polls reflected widespread frustration with a government he accused of arrogance, greed, and corruption.
“It was a people’s revolution,” he declared. “A revolt against an obstinate, insensitive government that dismissed dissenting views and labeled critics as detractors, cynics, Sanbalat, and Tobias.”
The Minority Leader commended Ghanaians for holding the NPP accountable, asserting that the election was a reminder that citizens will punish leaders who take them for granted.
He expressed gratitude for the massive support shown to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and wished the best for Members of Parliament who were not re-elected.
