Arsenal Get Title Challenge Back on Track with Win Over Nottingham Forest

Arsenal revived their title challenge with a crucial 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest, securing their first victory in five Premier League matches.

Mikel Arteta’s side had seen their form slip recently, hindered by a demanding fixture schedule and injuries, leaving them nine points adrift of league leaders Liverpool before kick-off on Saturday.

From the start, Arsenal dominated proceedings at the Emirates Stadium, with Bukayo Saka putting them ahead in the 15th minute. The winger exchanged passes with Martin Ødegaard, before slicing through two defenders and firing a powerful shot into the top corner.

Thomas Partey, who came on as a substitute at halftime, doubled the Gunners’ lead with a precise 20-yard strike.

The victory was sealed late on when youngster Ethan Nwaneri added a third goal, further cementing Arsenal’s control over the match.

Nottingham Forest, who have been a surprise package this season and entered the game level on points with Arsenal (19), struggled to assert themselves. They failed to register a shot on target, with their best chances coming from weak headers by Ryan Yates and Nicolás Domínguez.

Arsenal thought they had taken the lead even earlier when Jurrien Timber tapped in from close range, but the goal was ruled out due to an offside position by Mikel Merino in the build-up.

The win marked Arteta’s 250th match in charge of Arsenal in all competitions. The Spanish manager will be hoping this result sparks a strong run of form to close the gap on their rivals at the top of the Premier League.
