The Role of Mining in Ghana’s Economy
Ghana’s mining sector plays a crucial role in the country’s economic growth, largely driven by gold production, with Ghana ranked among the top gold producers in Africa. The sector has significantly contributed to the country’s GDP and provides employment for thousands of Ghanaians, both directly and indirectly, making it a vital source of livelihood for many families.
Additionally, the mining industry is a key source of foreign exchange earnings for Ghana and has attracted substantial foreign investment, which has further boosted the country’s economic development.
