Adwoa Safo in Hot Water: NPP Refers Former MP to Disciplinary Committee

Former Dome-Kwabenya MP referred to the party’s Disciplinary Committee for defying directives and making controversial public statements on NPP’s electoral defeat.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has referred former Dome-Kwabenya MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo, to its National Disciplinary Committee following her recent media statements regarding the party’s defeat in the 2024 elections.

According to a statement issued on Thursday, March 20, 2025, by NPP General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, Safo’s remarks defied a party directive that cautioned members against making public comments that could cause internal division.

He emphasized that as a former MP, Deputy Majority Leader, and Minister of State, Safo was expected to uphold party discipline, loyalty, and unity. However, her actions not only disregarded these principles but also violated Article 3(5) of the NPP’s constitution, which mandates members to protect the party’s image.

In light of these breaches, the party has decided to refer her case to the National Disciplinary Committee for further action.
