The Minority in Parliament has pledged to hold the National Democratic Congress (NDC) accountable for every campaign promise made during the 2024 elections, accusing the ruling party of misleading Ghanaians with unfeasible pledges.
During a parliamentary debate on January 21, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin sharply criticized the NDC’s campaign tactics, warning that winning the elections does not grant the government unchecked power.
“We will hold your feet to the fire. You think you campaigned and got it handed to you on a silver platter? You will see,” Afenyo-Markin declared.
He accused the NDC of creating false hope among Ghanaians and cautioned that the truth behind their promises would soon unfold. The Minority promised to maintain rigorous oversight of the government’s actions to ensure transparency and accountability.
“Today, you are in government, and we will follow through on every single promise you made while on the campaign platform,” Afenyo-Markin added, vowing that the Minority would remain vigilant in Parliament to ensure the NDC delivers on its commitments.
