Inferno Ravages Teachers’ Residence at Toase SHS
Fire destroys bungalow, leaving teachers displaced but unharmed

A devastating fire destroyed a teachers’ bungalow at Toase Senior High School (SHS) in the Atwima Nwabiagya Municipality of the Ashanti Region on the afternoon of Friday, December 20, 2024.
The blaze, which originated in one of the flats, rapidly engulfed three other units, leaving the building and the personal belongings of four teachers in ruins.
Ernest Opoku Mensah, Assembly Member for the Toase Electoral Area, reported no casualties but confirmed the total loss of the affected teachers’ belongings. The school administration promptly arranged temporary housing for the displaced staff to help them recover from the incident.
“We’re moving them to a secure apartment to stabilize the situation before further actions are taken,” Mensah said.
Emergency measures are underway as authorities investigate the cause of the fire.
