The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has made a stunning breakthrough in the 2024 elections, capturing over 30 key seats from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) across the nation.

The Greater Accra region alone saw a remarkable 27-seat gain, exceeding its target of 25.

Among the NDC’s notable wins are seats in Adansi Asokwa, Hohoe, Gomoa Central, Damongo, Ayawaso West Wuogon, Asante Akyem North, Akontombra, Ahanta West, Sissala East, Sunyani East, Tema West, Tarkwa Nsuaem, and Offinso North, to name a few.

Other constituencies that switched allegiance include Assin Central, Dome Kwabenya, Techiman, Tepa, Okaikoi South, Ahafo Ano South East, Adansi Akrofrom, Wesimintsim, Ketan, and Tarkwa Sekondi, showcasing a widespread political shift across the country.

This unprecedented turn of events marks the first time in 28 years that the NDC has claimed victories in traditionally NPP-held constituencies, signaling a historic shift in Ghana’s political landscape.
