Mahama to NPP: Show Proof of 12,000km of Roads Constructed in the Western Region
Former President John Mahama challenges the government’s infrastructure claims, highlighting road deficits in resource-rich regions
- Mahama questions the credibility of the NPP’s 12,000km road construction
- Chiefs in the Western Region report poor road conditions despite resource wealth
- He pledges to prioritize road infrastructure under the next NDC government
NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama has challenged President Nana Akufo-Addo to provide evidence for the claim that his administration has constructed 12,000 kilometers of roads across Ghana.
Speaking during his tour of the Western Region, Mahama highlighted widespread dissatisfaction with poor road infrastructure, as voiced by regional chiefs.
He argued that the state of roads in resource-rich regions like the Western Region contradicts the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) claims of significant progress.
Mahama further criticized the NPP for abandoning key initiatives like the Cocoa Roads and Gas Enclave Roads programs introduced under his presidency. He assured chiefs and residents that an NDC government would prioritize road infrastructure, addressing the region’s persistent challenges.
