IGP Urges Christians to Lead the Charge for Peace in 2024 Elections

In a special visit to churches on Sunday, November 24, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akufo Dampare, and the Police Management Board emphasized the importance of peace in the lead-up to Ghana’s December 7 elections.
At the Church of Pentecost in Accra New Town, the IGP urged the congregation to continue praying for peace, but stressed that prayers must be accompanied by actions.
He appealed to the public to support the police in maintaining security and order to ensure that the 2024 elections will be the most peaceful in Ghana’s history.
Dr. Dampare expressed gratitude for the role the church has played in fostering a peaceful atmosphere throughout the election process.
He noted that the country’s peace during this period is a testament to the collective efforts of citizens, with divine guidance being central to the calm experienced so far.
