The Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr. Ernest Addison, has expressed optimism that the institution’s newly commissioned headquarters will significantly enhance operational efficiency while cementing Ghana’s position as a leading financial hub in Africa.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony on Wednesday, November 20, Dr. Addison highlighted the strategic importance of consolidating the bank’s various offices across Accra into one state-of-the-art facility.
This centralisation, he explained, will streamline operations, improve communication, reduce costs, and create the synergy needed to achieve the bank’s broader modernisation goals.
“The new headquarters harmonises our operational units under one roof, enabling better coordination and efficiency.
Designed with the future in mind, this facility also stands as a modern civic landmark that reinforces Ghana’s image as a financial leader in Africa,” Dr. Addison said.
The $250 million project, dubbed “Bank Square,” features three main structures—the Tower, Urban, and Amenities Blocks—along with basements, podiums, and other facilities, showcasing the bank’s vision for a forward-thinking and robust financial ecosystem.
