Bawumia Will Win One-Touch; NPP Will Secure a Clear Majority in Parliament – Nana B

Nana B expresses confidence in NPP's victory, citing successful policies and strong voter support.

Story Highlights
  • NPP projects Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the outright winner of the 2024 presidential election
  • Campaigns across 260 constituencies, including Ashanti Region, show reduced voter apathy
  • Policies like Free SHS and infrastructure developments boost the party's confidence

Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, the National Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed strong confidence in the party’s chances for the 2024 elections.

According to him, NPP’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will win the presidential race outright, while the party secures a decisive majority in Parliament, claiming around 150 seats.

Speaking on the Ghana ‘Se Sen’ morning show on Lawson TV/Radio, Nana B attributed this optimism to the overwhelming positive feedback from their campaign tour across the nation’s 260 constituencies, especially in the Ashanti Region.

He noted that voter apathy in the Ashanti region has decreased significantly since the NPP launched its campaign there.

Highlighting the impact of NPP policies, Nana B cited the Free Senior High School (SHS) initiative, which he claims has eased the financial burden on parents and benefited 5.7 million students over the past seven years.

He further praised the party’s track record in infrastructure development and social interventions like former President Kufuor’s Free Maternal Health Care Policy under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

“Every place we go, you see the footprints of the NPP. The Free SHS we introduced has eased the burden on parents. Without Free SHS, the fees parents would have had to pay for their wards’ education at this time would be around GH₵15,000 to GH₵18,000. The Free SHS initiative was introduced seven years ago and has benefited 5.7 million people. The roads we have constructed are unprecedented. The NPP is the only party that introduces policies to benefit everyone. Former President Kufuor implemented the Free Maternal Health Care Policy (FMHCP) under the NHIS to alleviate the pressure on pregnant women,” he told Kwame Tanko
