As Ghana approaches the 2024 elections, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has issued a firm warning to citizens against engaging in any form of electoral misconduct.
He stressed that those who break the law will face severe consequences.
While inaugurating a new police station in Akyem-Manso, Eastern Region, Dr. Dampare reassured the public of the police’s preparedness to ensure a peaceful election. He highlighted proactive measures to identify and address early warning signs of unrest.
“Don’t be tempted to disrupt the elections, because the law will not be lenient with you,” he cautioned. “The people who push you into chaos will not stand by you when you’re caught—they’ll simply disappear.”
