Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei-Mensah has pushed back against criticisms that the government has sidelined the Ashanti Region, dismissing these as mere “dreams.”
He outlined extensive development initiatives under President Akufo-Addo’s administration, with significant improvements in road infrastructure, healthcare, and education.
Speaking at a forum in Kumasi, Osei-Mensah highlighted numerous ongoing projects, including the Agenda 111 hospital initiative, new court complexes, and community-based health facilities.
He pointed out enhanced housing provisions for civil servants and new accommodations with leisure facilities for judges.
Additionally, the Minister credited effective flood prevention and a decrease in robbery incidents to coordinated efforts by the regional security council.
“If anyone believes Ashanti has been overlooked, they’re either dreaming or unaware of these developments,” he stated. The Minister reassured residents of the government’s dedication to fulfilling its promises, focusing on key infrastructure improvements across the region.
