In his victory speech early Wednesday morning, shortly after major news outlets confirmed his win, Donald Trump struck a tone of unity and resilience, promising to heal the nation and restore its greatness.
Speaking to a jubilant crowd at his Mar-a-Lago resort in West Palm Beach, Florida, Trump told supporters, “We’re going to help our country heal,” as his family—wife Melania and son Barron joined him on stage to the strains of “God Bless the USA.”
Trump, reflecting on his remarkable political comeback, celebrated the revival of his movement after his 2020 election defeat and the aftermath of the January 6th insurrection.
Acknowledging that he’s poised to win the popular vote this time around, he proclaimed, “This is the greatest political movement of all time—there’s never been anything like this. This will forever be remembered as the day the American people regained control of their country.”
Trump’s running mate, Ohio Senator J.D. Vance, also took the stage, calling it “the greatest political comeback” and pledging that Trump’s leadership would spark “the greatest economic comeback in American history.” Trump also praised Vance’s media efforts, noting how the senator “obliterates” mainstream media outlets like CNN.
The speech veered into a tribute to Elon Musk, calling the tech mogul a “super-genius” and stressing the importance of protecting exceptional talent. He also recognized UFC President Dana White, who spoke out in support, saying, “This is what happens when the machine comes after you. He’s the most resilient, hard-working man I’ve ever seen. This is karma, ladies and gentlemen.”
Touching briefly on the assassination attempt he survived in July, Trump suggested divine intervention was behind his victory, stating, “Many people have told me that God spared me for a reason, and that reason was to save our country and restore America to greatness.”
