President Akufo-Addo has pledged that the general elections set for December 7, 2024, will be conducted in a manner that is free, fair, transparent, and peaceful.

He emphasized his commitment to handing over the presidency to the candidate chosen by the people.

Addressing an enthusiastic crowd during the Anlo Hogbetsotso Za festival, President Akufo-Addo expressed heartfelt thanks to the chiefs and citizens of Anlo for their unwavering support throughout his administration.

He reaffirmed his dedication to a transparent electoral process, appreciating Ghanaians for upholding peace during his nearly eight-year presidency. “As we know, without peace, there can be no meaningful development,” he stated. “The peace we currently enjoy will carry us through to the elections on December 7. I assure the people of Anlo, the Volta region, and all Ghanaians that this election will be free, fair, transparent, and peaceful.”

On election day, he promised to hand over the leadership of the nation to the choice of the Ghanaian people, which drew enthusiastic applause from the audience.

As his presidency approaches its end, he is undertaking a nationwide tour to personally thank Ghanaians for their support. Though he intends to revisit the Volta Region, the Hogbetsotso Za festival served as his final opportunity to express his gratitude.

The celebration, held in Anloga, gathered dignitaries, traditional leaders, and community members to honor Anlo heritage and Ghana’s rich cultural diversity, with the Awoemefia (Overlord), Togbi Sri III, presiding over the event.

President Akufo-Addo recognized the presence of various chiefs, including Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II, Paramount Chief of the Oguaa Traditional Area, and Daasebre Nana Kwaku Boateng III, Paramount Chief of New Juaben, showcasing a strong sense of national unity.

The festival featured vibrant performances of music, dance, and cultural customs, celebrating the rich traditions of the Anlo people and the collective heritage of Ghana.
