Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer, has urged constituents of Asunafo South to shift from the traditional skirt-and-blouse voting method to a more cohesive approach.
While the NPP has consistently triumphed in presidential elections in the area, it has struggled to secure the parliamentary seat currently held by the NDC’s Eric Opoku.
During his recent engagement with stakeholders in Sankore, Dr. Bawumia stressed the importance of electing NPP parliamentary candidate Francis Adusei Opoku, who he believes would be instrumental in his government.
“Vote for me to enhance your lives,” he stated. “It’s clear that in Asunafo South, you support the NPP in presidential elections but not in parliamentary ones. I urge you to change that in 2024 vote straight for both the presidential and parliamentary candidates. Let’s break this pattern; support Adusei so he can join my government. Don’t let us down this time; we’re both number one!”
As part of his campaign in the Ahafo region, Dr. Bawumia plans to visit Asunafo South, Asunafo North, and Asutifi South on Thursday.
His schedule includes meetings with chiefs, business leaders, and party supporters to share his vision and gather support for the upcoming elections.
Ahead of his visit, residents of Norbekoi in the Asunafo South constituency expressed their continued support for the New Patriotic Party, promising to keep voting for them.
