Jubilation erupted in Anyinam as the NDC’s top financier, who brings many migrants to the Birim, Densu, Akombra, Offin, Pra, Oda, and Ayensu rivers to mine, was arrested just an hour ago by the Small Scale Miners Taskforce, supported by the Ghana Armed Forces.
According to the galamsey operators arrested yesterday, he and two other kingpins, known as JJ and another alias “Assemblyman,” import individuals from Togo and Burkina Faso to mine in Ghana’s river bodies.
The General Secretary of the Small Scale Miners Association, who is unaware of Noah’s political affiliation but is concerned about his mining activities, stated that Noah leads a large cabal that distributes these foreigners across the river bodies.
Kwame Agyeman (alias Kwame China), a prominent small-scale miner and elder of the Small Scale Miners Association, confirmed that some of those arrested attested to the fact that their bosses—namely Noah and the two others (JJ and another called Assemblyman)—dismissed all warnings regarding their activities on the river bodies.
