A/R: Two Killed as Rival Gangs Clash at Funeral at Wiamoase
Gunshots and chaos erupt as burial ceremony descends into violent confrontation; police launch investigation

A funeral ceremony at Wiamoase in the Afigya Sekyere South District of the Ashanti Region turned bloody when a violent confrontation between rival gangs left two young men dead and several others injured.
One of the deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Faisal Haroun from Aboaso in the Kwabre East Municipality. The identity of the second victim remains unknown at this time.
Eyewitnesses report that tensions flared at the funeral grounds, resulting in a chaotic scene with gunfire and a brutal retaliatory attack on Faisal.
He was rushed to the Wiamoase SDA Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. Other injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at the same facility.
According to Enoch Boakye, Assembly Member for the Wiamoase-Gyidim Tanoso Electoral Area, the clash broke out as mourners were returning from the cemetery, leading to gunshots and deadly violence.
Faisal Haroun has since been buried in accordance with Islamic traditions. Meanwhile, community leaders in Aboaso, including Assembly Member Nurain Mohammed, are working with the youth to prevent any retaliatory violence.
Police in Agona have begun a full investigation into the incident.
