Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has reaffirmed his nation’s dedication to bolstering economic and trade relations with Ghana following a congratulatory phone call to President John Dramani Mahama on his re-election.

A statement from Egypt’s presidency, dated February 3, 2025, highlighted President El-Sisi’s enthusiasm for enhancing bilateral ties, emphasizing the historical and political bonds between the two countries.

Presidential Spokesperson Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy noted Egypt’s eagerness to expand cooperation under President Mahama’s leadership.

“Egypt is committed to fostering closer bilateral relations and advancing them further during President Mahama’s tenure, reflecting the distinguished relationship between our countries and the brotherly connection between our peoples,” the statement read.

During their discussion, the two leaders stressed the importance of aligning economic and trade collaborations with their longstanding diplomatic ties. President El-Sisi expressed keen interest in encouraging Egyptian companies to invest in Ghana, highlighting the positive contributions of Egyptian firms to Ghana’s development.
