Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin has revoked the suspension of four Members of Parliament (MPs) who were sanctioned following a heated clash during a vetting session on Thursday, January 30, 2025.
The altercation, which broke out between Minority and Majority MPs, escalated tensions and sparked a walkout by Minority MPs, leaving the Majority to proceed with vetting nominees.
Among those vetted was MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, who faced extended questioning by Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin before the walkout.
After reviewing the incident, Speaker Bagbin lifted the suspension to restore normalcy and enable the MPs to resume their parliamentary duties. The decision aims to ease tensions and refocus Parliament on its legislative responsibilities.
