Violet Moyo was attacked early Thursday while heading to her fields for the summer cropping season.
The lion ambushed her, knocking her to the ground with a powerful strike. Despite the overwhelming danger, Moyo fought back, evading its deadly claws until it sunk them into her cheek.
In a desperate move, she grabbed the lion by the throat and choked it, refusing to let go until the beast retreated.
