A deadly fire claimed the lives of at least 10 infants at a hospital in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi district on Friday night.

The blaze broke out in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Jhansi Medical College, where more than 50 babies were receiving care.

Health officials confirmed the tragic loss, with the remaining infants rescued from the fire. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered immediate relief and rescue efforts, while Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak announced an investigation into the fire’s cause.

Heartbroken relatives were seen grieving outside the hospital, as the tragedy unfolded.
