The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed admiration for former President John Agyekum Kufour’s statesmanship, acknowledging their respect and affection for him.

However, they swiftly dismissed his recent comments supporting Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and urging Ghanaians to avoid election violence, stating that such remarks will not undo the damage caused by President Akufo-Addo’s governance.

Mustapha Gbande, Deputy General Secretary of the NDC speaking on the Election Home program on Lawson TV/Radio, emphasized that while they respect Kufour as a statesman, his statements will not reverse the consequences of Akufo-Addo’s leadership.

“We love Kufour as a true statesman, but his comments will not reverse the bad governance caused by old man Akufo-Addo.”

Gbande further argued that voting for Dr. Bawumia would essentially be a vote for more of the same failed governance under Akufo-Addo.

He underscored that the upcoming election is a crucial decision for the future, urging voters to consider the impact on their lives when they cast their ballots.
