- Reveals former Communications Director opposed his appointment and was largely absent
Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the Director of Communications for the Bawumia Campaign Team, has addressed the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) defeat in the 2024 elections, acknowledging internal divisions that may have contributed to the outcome.
Speaking in an interview on Monday, February 10, Aboagye expressed his willingness to accept responsibility if doing so would help the party reorganize and move forward.
“If I am blamed for our defeat in the 2024 elections, and that helps the party rebuild for the future, I accept it,” he stated. “If it will bring peace and harmony, I have no objections.”
He also clarified that he was not in charge of campaign finances, distancing himself from any financial decisions made during the election period.
“I want to make it clear that I was not the Director of Finance, so I did not handle any campaign funds,” he emphasized.
Aboagye further revealed that internal tensions within the communications team affected their efforts, citing the dissatisfaction of his predecessor, Yaw Adomako Baafi, with his appointment.
“Yaw Adomako Baafi was not pleased with my appointment, and that is on record,” he disclosed, adding that Baafi attended only one meeting in the lead-up to the elections.
