  • The Minority believes the figures were manipulated to paint the NPP in a bad light

The Minority in Parliament has stated today that the President, through the Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, presented inaccurate figures in the 2025 budget, which was released to Ghanaians a few days ago.

Speaking at a press conference, the former Finance Minister and MP for Karaga, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, claimed that the minister presented these figures to justify the assertion that the NPP government mismanaged the economy before leaving power. However, he argued that this was not the case.

He explained that the immediate past NPP government did everything possible to strengthen the economy, leaving it in a much better state than what the NDC government left behind in 2016.

Dr. Amin Adam further provided details to support his claim, emphasizing that the NPP left behind a robust financial economy, contrary to the NDC’s characterization of it as weak and criminally mismanaged.
